In contrast to traditional origami with straight creases, in curved-crease origami, folding leads to panel bending. Thus, curved-crease origami could potentially produce stiffer, tunable, structures with fewer folds. Yet, the mechanics and deformations of curved-crease origami are not well-understood. We study these mechanics through the lens of the bistable waterbomb base.
